Will be in touch soon with a in-depth breakdown of the top ten hand break turners courtesy of the old git's hire drive and why hire drive cars should never be purchased. There is nothing like screwing him from the inside out. keep up the good work! yours faithfully The Real Mole.. |

well done, the site is great an very funny - Arnold has made money from all of you who have complained on this site, you all learned the hard way -fancy press, cheap deals caught your eyes. I know before the ink was dry you did look around for a car and opted for Arnold's cheap car, and know at you're cost. CHEEP CAR CHEAP SERVICE. By the way I worked for the man (Mr Clark) . Don't get me wrong I worked for Cordiners Rover Dundee then Laidlaw an then my eyes where opened Arnold bought us, customer was always king in business (they pay the wages) Arnold is OK, it is the nuttier that work for him. They are all over the country working on a limited budget. It is a numbers game in car sales, the salesmen do a good job selling you a car at a good deal (that is why you bought your car) but the service department, that all this site is about, they don't give a hoot about you or the car - they work on there own target's. You spend £2,000 plus of hard eared cash on a car with a thir! ty day warranty - WHY ? . All franchises are the same but an independent car dealer always give six months plus, free off charge and will always be there for the silliest of problems. They know customer is king. What I am trying to say is franchise companies sell cars, they do know the people. Your complaint is OK in my eyes but you did buy the car. I know work for a very good local garage and know all the customers who we deal with us are knot there cars. |

A Peach of a Deal. A few years ago, we were in the Paisley Eat Lane show room looking at new cars. Mum Dad & 2 kids, aged about 4 and 7. we were in the forecourt, and the advertising was all billed as "a Peach of a Deal". The cars were displayed with balloons, helium fill, to represent peaches. The youngest was fascinated by these, and eventually grabbed the string, and it came loose, and floated away. Up it went, the small boy fascinated ! to our surprise, THE MAN HIMSELF, came out and told us that the balloons cost nearly £3.00 each, and to keep the kids in check. We kept our own cheque. Ta Ta Arnold. |

I purchased a Cavalier from Arnold Clark Honda in kirkcaldy. It was my first car and I had to take finance out with my mother as guarantor. During the test the test drive there was a red brake warning light on the dash board... "that's just the pads" advised the salesman. Ok I thought fair enough. It was agreed that this would be done before I purchased the car. I fell in love with the car. So bought it. I was advised that the car required an MOT and a few bits and bobs to take it up to "Arnold's standards". I was advised 3 days. That quickly became 4 days. Sorry did I say 4 I meant 7. And so on.... 12 days later the car was ready to be collected. As I drove home I noticed that the car was drawing to the middle of the road every time I turned left. I nipped into my local Vauxhall dealership to see if they had any idea what could be causing this. Now this car had just been Mot'd, right? Anti roll bar pin burst - Causing the swerving Exhaust baffles loose - Although it was new for the MOT? Brake fluid missing - yes, there was no brake fluid at all Brake warning light - Bulb has simply been removed Heavy oil leak - Due to burst pipe Bald tyre - offside rear I took the car back, obviously, but the salesman was less than interested in the fact that I was having problems. It ended up I had to go back 4 times before I was given an appointment to have the car repaired. Although my MOT certificate claimed that this work really should have been carried out. This is illegal isn't it? Putting a car through an MOT without actually making it road worthy! The car was repaired (supposedly) and I returned to Vauxhall to have them check the car out. This had to happen a further 3 times as they either found that the faults had not been rectified or that other faults had been uncovered. After around 2 months I finally had the car that I had wanted in full working order! This page makes me feel slightly better about the whole affair as I know that I am not the only one that was screwed by Arnold Clark. I was put off for life. I will never purchase a car from Arnold Clark again. |

Had the miss-fortune to work for this shower several years
ago, and left at the first opportunity. The standard of the managers at my branch ranged from very poor to laughable. The company seems to favour younger guys as managers, in the knowledge that these guys won't "rock the boat" and will think they're embarking on some stellar career with real prospects, with a go ahead company. That's a laugh...what these "managers" using the term in its loosest sense) actually get is poor pay and conditions, and a VERY long working week. Oh...and don't even think of being critical of anything to do with the company. you'll be out the door. Everyone is looking over their shoulder, in this environment that uses fear as a stick to keep the workers in line. Surprised they didn't insist on all employees singing the company song every morning before starting work. He thinks he's made it socially, but he doesn't know his Sancerre from his Chablis..:) Great site and keep up the good work.. |

How Lucky am I! Yesterday (6th March) I went to my Local AC dealers in Newcastle under Lyme to look at cars. I'm looking to buy my first car and I haven't a clue about them. Anyway the sales rep I spoke to was very friendly and helpful. and initially i was quite impressed. So this morning I thought i would have a look on the internet before going b back to Arnold's. Aren't I glad I found your site. I have now decided to look elsewhere. I'm quite shocked, I was so close to buying a car from them. Now i think about it, there's something what makes me laugh. I was telling the sales rep that I wanted something reliable that wouldn't have costly repair bills, and the rep replied " We wouldn't want you to have an unreliable car, therefore we wouldn't sell you something with problems". what a joke! Thanks again. . |

Now you might think we would have
learned our lesson after the first disaster of buying a new car from Arnold Clark, we gave them the benefit of the doubt with our new Mazda MX5, sad to say all the promises were not delivered this time again. Needless to say we will not be buying from them again. |

I WORKED IN AN ARNOLD CLARK GARAGE AND I HAVE TO DISAGREE WITH THOSE WHO SAY IT IS THE MECHANICS WHO CARRY OUT A DODGY SERVICE. I THINK YOU'LL FIND THE MECHANICS CARRY OUT THERE JOB WELL. ITS THE KNOB HEAD MANAGERS WHO GIVE THE BAD SERVICE AS THERE WORKING ON A TIGHT BUDGET. STILL THEY HAVE NO REASON TO HAVE THERE HEADS STUCK UP THERE ARSE! CUSTOMERS ARE PAYING AND DESERVE THE RIGHT TO RECEIVE WHAT THERE PAYING FOR.. |
