A most interesting and informative
site. My wife and I are recently retired and intended buying from Arnold Clark in Ayr but now have too many reservations and will go elsewhere.

If you think for one moment when you walk into an ARNOLD CLARK garage you are walking into A reputable establishment then thinks again. God only knows how a company likes This gets away with the catalogue of poor customer service and aggressive sales Tactics you have to ask yourself a few questions. you have to do your research before you go anywhere near them, even then they treat you with contempt because they get there money easy especially in city sites. turnovers can be high and margins are small on new cars so they try and screw you on your trade-in by a factor of at least 50%. stay away from them if you can, my recent experience tells me that the information on this site is as good a warning as you could get. do not be an AC victim, do your sums and you will see that AC adds up stress and contempt for you as a person, give the b******* a wide berth. I know all about ARNOLD as I was once employed there. You see the adds on the television ?? promises delivered ? it should say “ what the punter don’t know wont hurt them” but get the money before they start asking too many questions. Take my word for it, as soon as ARNOLD CLARK has your money you then become an irritant if you go back to complain, they are in the business if making money, not seeing to your complaints. They want to know you big style when your spending but shuffle you out the door when they have to spend money on YOUR car. A car you own. Why should they spend good cash on YOUR car ? it’s YOUR car now, go spend your own money on it. Aaaahh. Life as an Arnold Clark salesman can be hard some times J when the stupid customer comes back really expecting us to fix his friggin car, once the paperwork is signed the car is his, not ours. Yet some of the idiots really do expect us to pay for repairs within the 30 day warranty. get lost !!Hi everyone, I've known for a couple of years now that our local Arnold Clarke |

My niece bought a Fiat Punto from Arnold Clark in Motherwell and since receiving it from the garage she has had nothing but bother with it. When she took it back to the garage she was told to take it to Arnold Clark's in Allison Street Glasgow. The Sales Team were obnoxious and so were the after sales team. The smell of stale drink in the after sales office was horrible and the way they talked to you was ridiculous. If she had been a man I wonder if she would have been treated differently. I would strongly recommend if you are buying a car that you don't buy it from Arnold Clark.. |

I bought my car brand new from Arnold Clark and within 2 weeks it had an oil leak which was fixed after I complained about it. Then a couple of months after that, I noticed that when I was driving on the motorway at speed and tried to slow down, that the break pedal was vibrating. Obviously I was scared when this happened because it felt as if the car wasn't going to stop. So I took it back to them and they said "Oh the break discs are warped, its nothing life threatening"...Not for them maybe as it was me having to drive the bloody thing. I was so angry that I had bought this car new and was having these problems. So I picked the car up and it felt alright....for about a week, then the same thing happened again. Only this time when I took it back, I discovered that the break discs had NEVER been changed in the first place, I was so angry, but at least this time the job had been done. So now, about 5 months on, the breaks are the same. Its a constant problem, that could mean there is a fault with the car itself, and I am having to take it back AGAIN. I would advise anyone wishing to buy a car, old or new to avoid Arnold Clark like the plague...cos they are cowboys!!!! |
