READ HERE WHAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE TO SAY ARNOLD CLARK AUTOMOBILES LTD |

I'm glad someone has come up with this website. It was about time! It was a few years ago now (1998)but i bought a car from Hamilton Rd Rover too. It was a Honda Concerto. I cant remember all details exactly but I'll tell you my nightmare. 6th Dec- Bought car, agreed to pick it up on 12th 11th Dec - Car was Mot'd and serviced (Ha, good yin) 12th Dec- I picked car up 14th Dec- Noticed a few things going wrong, so started having a good look Spark plugs burnt to bits Oil bogging Air filter worse No service done then!! Warped front disks Key fob not working Door switch for interior light not working Bulbs blown Hand brake totally goosed by 15th Dec Seized rear caliper Rear disk destroyed by seized caliper Front and rear disk pads under limit and rotational tyres put on wrong way No MOT done either then!!! I phoned up to let my disgust be known only to speak to the cheekiest bastard ever. Cheeky until i threatened to take my car to Vehicle Inspectorate in Bishopbriggs. (oh, sorry, once i explained what the vehicle inspectorate was to the ass) Car went in over 4 times to get sorted in the next four weeks, every time it came back with only one or two things sorted. Then they tried to say "you didn't report these faults before you 30 day guarantee, it's not on the computer" Eventually had enough and started sorting things myself. Skimmed the warped disks and serviced the car. I took all the old parts from service along to the guy who sold me the car. It's hard to explain the state the plugs and air filter were in but the air filter had leaves and twigs in it and the plugs had grooves burnt in them. When confronted they looked me straight in the face and said the air filter was fine and the spark plugs were supposed to be like that. Blatant fukin lies. Some spark plugs do have "V" shaped grooves, not this make though. So, i can only conclude that not just Arnold but all his staff are liars. Mechanics, sales, receptionists, customer services all of them lied to me. I used to be a mechanic, so i knew what to look for but i couldn't help think about car buyers who put there trust in these people. I honestly think anyone would be better going to the dodgy garage on the street corner than the massive organization of crooks running Arnold Clark! |

Bought a car in November 2002, 10 months old. Six weeks ago (feb 2003).Gear box developed a problem, no gears. Car taken to MACHARGS (part of AC group) I was told later bill would be £810,the warranty was invalid because I had missed a service. Phoned car manufacturers and I was told warranty could be re-valided for £60 . Did that,AC by then,3 weeks after car went in, AC had not ordered parts, gear box. Car was repaired, but I found out the gear box they had put in was reconditioned. job and only had a 3 month warranty. In between my car being put in to AC and getting a courtesy car was 3 weeks and as I my off work with arthritis it didn't help me having to walk every where. The car makers are currently investigating this whole affair but I done expect much from them. I have found AC staff's attitude unhelpful, rude, condescending, every word they say has to be checked as thoroughly as possible. I have told them I will never darken their show rooms again and they are about to be famous! s(puzzled looks) and i have informed the car maker I will never buy their cars again or any one else I know either. |

the people Arnold has as his management team think that they are so clever. When they finally discovered the Net they assumed it was an outlet to sell more cars. They did not have the sense to realize that the Net is also an engine which can be utilized by the general public to highlight the shortcomings of this greedy old man and his cohorts. This site is to be commended. Long may it continue.. |

BOUGHT A BRAND NEW JEEP, CUT ALONG STORY
SHORT. STEERING COLLAPSED NOT JUST ONCE BUT TWICE, NOT TO MENTION A CATALOGUE OF OTHER EVENTS, SUCH AS FAN BELT PROBLEMS MISSING PARTS IN THE ENGINE, EXHAUST, POWER STEERING, BRAKES, ELECTRIC WINDOWS, CENTRAL LOCKING, UNKNOWN BURNING SMELLS AND SO ON. I THINK THE WORSE PART IS WHEN I I DO TAKE IT BACK TO THE GARAGE TO BE REPAIRED AGAIN. I DON'T GET A COURTESY CAR. I HAD TO ARGUE TO GET ONE THE LAST TIME MY STEERING WENT AND THE CAR WAS OF THE ROAD FOR 3 WEEKS. OH THE JEEP HAS ALSO HAD A SAFETY RECALL MAKES YOU LAUGH. I'M SURPRISED I'M STILL HERE TO TELL MY STORY CONSIDERING HOW BAD THE STEERING IS.. |

I work for Arnold Clark in Glasgow and
i can honestly say if you have any common Sense don’t by a car from him. The
salesmen are liars and cheats they will say Anything and everything just to get
you to sing on the dotted line. Even once the Car is bought when it comes to the pre
delivery inspection well it certainly is Not that a quick mot yes and whatever
it needs thats what it gets just to get it Out of their sight. When you bring the
car back under the 1-month warranty well They don’t like it if you can’t
fix it say you have all to say them money. It’s all

we bought a Citreon Saxo from Arnold
Clark kirkcaldy a 1998 1400cc auto SX it seemed ok at first it had only done 26000 miles with mobility history through Citreon UK about 3 months after we got it a strange creaking noise was coming from the rear of the car took the back wheel of and found to my horror that the back arm was coming loose from the axle as the axle is non-serviceable it means a new back axle we also discovered the car had been in a bump of course a Clark only gave us a months warranty with the car good will they called it as the car had only done 26000 miles we did not suspect anything was starting to go wrong as they mot'd the car for 1 year before we bought it the car we traded in was in better axle condition than the Citroen namely a Peugeot 205 so beware do not go to Arnold Clark kirkcaldy |

we purchased a car from a Clark kirkcaldy Volvo depot wait for it a Citreon Saxo 1400 SX auto with 26000 miles on the clock a true mileage by gum seemed to be ok at first then a creaking noise started coming from the rear end i had a look and to my horror the rear arm nearside was parting company from the main body of the axle non repairable as we only had a months good will warranty with the car we were up ramp without an exhaust pipe we have also found out the car had been in a bump on that side of the car which did cause this problem to occur r we phoned their marketing so called dept in nithdale drive in Glasgow but it was pass the buck time one person said we do not give 1 years warranty on second hand cars but when i phoned Armadale a Clark they would give me a warranty on a 1998 car for a year if i paid for my road tax we sold the car and traded it in for a nice renualt Clio 1600rt auto t reg with only 12750 miles genuine from a garage in d/line it is a superb car and has not given us any grief yet at 20000 miles so insist on a warranty wherever you buy a car oh by the way always check the catalyser on newer cars as 6 years is the average lifespan and Arnolds cars all seem to be at that life span end well must go and pass out some leaflets which i copied from your website to his [Arnolds] competitors . |
