We bought a car from Arnold Clark Aberdeen, on going to pick it up we noticed the back bumper was damaged, when we complained we were told to take the car back at our convience so after three attempts they said it was fixed. On inspecting the bumper they had removed the screw and touched it up with paint that was the wrong colour. When i asked to speak to the manager he came out to see me and said that was the best they were willing to do as it was a used car and not a new car, I explained that the car was not even a year old and he told me to like it or lump it that was it fixed as far as he was concerned. Then the exhaust went, again i went back to Arnold Clark now i have been told there is nothing wrong with it they say its suppose to sound like that, but they will sell us a quieter exhaust (what a cheek) we have since looked at the exhaust ourselves and found that the baffles in the exhaust silencer are loose so it looks like a trip back again .15.5.2003 |

Service Rip-offs are where he makes his money. My Toyota Land cruiser (company car) had been regularly serviced at AC Linwood: then I bought it from the leasing company and started to notice the bills. Mysterious faults with the handbrake which apparently cost £hundreds to fix, then the rear lights were supposedly replaced due to corrosion; then I received a call advising me of work needing done for £100's ...which had already been carried out. Took my car on holiday to the Western Isles...where the entire Cylinder Head blew at a cost pf £2500; mechanic up there said remedial action during service would have spotted cause...but the car had just been serviced: guess where? Then received a call from AC advising the brake discs were corroded and needed replaced, but I ignored this and threw my wallet on the barbecue as it was much cheaper.. 15.502003 |

well done? its time these CARING
arseholes at a/Clarks are brought to the attention of the public. this is the only method of communication we have to show these money lining devious people for what they are. i purchased a new fiat Punto from said dickheads at there Allison street branch in Glasgow, big big mistake?. it has been back to them ten or more times to try and rectify some of 19 faults it has NOT had. some of these faults are major, steering- braking, etc. these people are incapable of rectifying the simple faults, I fixed the most of them myself. i have wrote to fiat on five occasions to a miss Buda ha?. her answer is contact the arseholes its there problem, so more time of work and another cover note for another POXY courtesy car. i have complained to Arnold Clark and directors as you are legally told to do, but you don't receive a letter from them as you are supposed to do ,instead its handed back to the arse???.and of we go again, time of w......?etc. my car suddenly acquired these strange symptoms after coming out of the workshop, partially disconnected fan, but they left it running to long and it and i noticed it before the person got out of the car, they said they must have brushed against it when trying to fix my steering problem, don't think so*****. am sorry I've went on a bit ,but believe me this is only one tenth of the problems I've had with the nice people at Clark sucks. the only way these people wore me down, was because i became unwell and was attending hospital on a daily then weekly basis. if you want to know any more of there devious practices please ask. they are aware of my name 16.5.2003 |

My girlfriend bought a BRAND NEW VW Golf from the branch at Crow Road, Glasgow 2 weeks ago. 30 minutes after she had bought it, she opened the boot & the clip which lifts the parcel shelf snapped. She immediately phoned the salesman, who said, "It's nothing to do with me - not my department", even though he had just taken £13000 from her. He put her through to the service department (I use the word "service" very loosely!) but, surprise surprise, no-one could take her call. She was told someone would call back within the hour - she's still waiting for the call. After continually phoning, she managed to get someone who said he would get the part ordered & it would be in stock in a few days. A few days passed & she called again, only to be told that the part hadn't been ordered - they did order it that day & fitted it a couple of days later. Also, on the first day, she noticed that the doors were out of line & there was water getting inside the car - she has now been told that it's "a characteristic of the car" according to the salesman. Obviously, she told them to take the car back & give her something else, as the water is dripping onto the sills & the seats, but they told her that they can't take it back, as "it's not defective". The service manager then refused to book it in to attempt to re-align the doors, but after arguing with the salesman, he booked it in, but continually said that it was a waste of time, as it would make no difference. I would urge anyone who's thinking of buying a car from Arnold Clark to think again - there are plenty of "back street" garages that would give much better customer service!.17.5.2003 |

they may sell cars cheaper, but they offer you the lowest trade-in. if Arnold Clark was the only car dealership i will be a lot fitter walking. i have complained to the head office many times about Stirling Renault and Grangemouth Citroen, they all wear spurs and leather hats..19.5.2003 |

bet we never ever see the triangle with the "real sale" outside Arnolds showrooms next year when it comes round to "real sale " time again. I got a funny feeling you pointed out how silly it was. ( I know cause I work for the slimey
one known as the wee man.) we already got words that black is the new colour.

We brought a new Peugeot 206 Xsi back in September 2002, although we have had no problems with the car, there was one incident with a punctured tyre. Upon picking up the car I noticed that it looked like shit, dirty and covered in oily handprints, I decided to look around the car and noticed that one of the alloys was black, upon further inspection I saw that the tyre was not the same as the other 3. After asking what had happened I was told that it had got a slow puncture, i was amazed at this seeing as though it had only done 17 miles. Judging my the state of it I would say it had a blow out of some sorts. Anyway, on asking for it to be changed to the correct tyre they proceeded to bullshit my wife by saying that the tyre was fine and that it didn't matter that it didn't match, my wife is not stupid when it comes to cars so promptly told him that the treads were no where near the same and that it had a different speed rating. After this they said they would change the! e tyre. Jesus, what a cock up that was. Monday, car in, tyre changed, same bloody tyre, explanation, "Sorry we put it on another 206 and he is in London at the moment", Tuesday, new tyre fitted, wrong one again, "I can't what's wrong with it sir?", Wednesday, man from London returns to change tyres, he's fine, however the tyre now has a split in it, Thursday finally get the correct tyre, however, the wheel looked like shit and the car was filthy (after I had polished it). NEVER go to AC in Tollcross, and NEVER buy a car from Laurie Doig, the fat bastard doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. 20.5.2003 |

Has anybody been sold low cost insurance when purchasing a vehicle from Arnold Clark? Where you told it was a consumer offer available for the first year? I wasn't I was told it would be available whilst I owned the vehicle! Any feedback is much appreciated as I am in the throws of suing AC for deceptive sales techniques under the Consumer Protection Act. 20.5.2003 |

I AM AN EX ARNOLD CLARK EMPLOYEE OF SEVEN YEARS WHO MOVED TO A/C RENAULT PAISLEY FROM ANOTHER BRANCH NOT THROUGH CHOICE) THE NEW PARTS MANAGER PAUL MCCLUSKEY WAS A JUMPED UP WEE BIGOTED ARSEHOLE WITH NO CLUE OF HOW TO RUN A DEPT.THE ONLY SUCCESS HE HAD WAS BY TREATING HIS STAFF LIKE SHIT, EXPECTING THEM TO WORK OVERTIME FOR FREE AND BASICALLY PUTTING FEAR INTO PEOPLE TO GET HIS OWN WAY. WHEN I ARRIVED I ROCKED THE BOAT BY NOT PUTTING UP WITH HIS SHIT AND HE THEN MADE MY LIFE SHEER HELL FOR THE FOLLOWING 7-8 MONTHS UNTIL I MADE MYSELF ILL WITH WORRY OVER WHICH LIES HE WOULD COME UP WITH NEXT, AND WHICH MISTAKES HE WOULD INVENT TO USE AGAINST ME. I WENT TO STUART MACAULEY THE GROUP PARTS MANAGER WHO GAVE ME NO HELP AND FINALLY I LEFT SICKENED WITH THE WHOLE ORGANISATION!!! ALTHOUGH TWO YEARS HAVE NOW PASSED THIS IS STILL NOT FORGOTTEN
