I worked for Arnold Clark for a number of years. The man is a tyrnat and menace that surrounds himself with yes men. These brown nosers spend so much time looking at the old buy's asshole they forget that its actually the customer that pays their wages, not that dithering old fool. On one visit to a local garage a trade in that any other dealership would have passed on was re-sprayed and presented in mint condition. I pity the poor bastard the bought the heap of shit. No doubt he got conned into buying the Arnold Clark extended warranty. A sheet of toilet paper is of more value and costs a lot less yet serves a number of purposes! 30.6.2003 |

bought a Peugeot 307 with dodgy tracking in Feb. 03. They've had it three times now, once for two days. Last time it was in they said it couldn't be fixed by them and they would have to send it to a specialist AT MY COST!!!!! I pushed back to the sales dept because that was the condition of the car when i bought it. Now they're trying to deny that the car has been in at all!!! The only way i could convince them that it had been in is because i know (slightly) the guy who sold it to me. Apart from that the car is fine. SCUM !!! 1.7.2003 |

I put my company car into Arnold Clark Vauxhall at the
phoenix in Paisley, they were asked to sort excessive vibration through the steering at 70 mph and above. Went back for the car vibration still there went back in to ac on Tuesday to be told 2our wheel balancer machine is broke guv" so i took the car back in on the Wednesday in the hope the machine would be working, they balanced the wheels again and this time weights appeared on the wheels, same wheels same tyres so when did they decide that weights were now required. On Thursday the oil light came on, the bastards had cracked the oil filter housing on the Monday and attempted to blame me and then the type of roads that i was driving on. The Citroens Arnold Clark at the phoenix overcharged my wife for a service saying that the car actually required a "big" service and that they could not contact her, for fux sake she was waiting in their frigging waiting area, she kicked up a stink and only paid the wee speccy bastard for the service that she had booked in the first place, what a woman.3.7.2003 |

I took my car to Arnold Clark for a major service and MOT. Having paid the pricey sum of @£550 I expected all to be well. Think again. Small gripe, but I had expected the car to be cleaned - wasn't The car been a great runner, never had any problems with it. On the way home, I felt the car was a bit sluggish, and shuddered when idling (was not like that before the service) That night I was shopping and get back to the car knackered. Went to drive off, only find the brakes has seized on. When my road rescue service picked me up, they could not get the problem fixed and towed me home. next day They took me back to the garage. The service manager was just not that interested, the only one offering any level of customer service was the young chap in customer service. After leaving the car with them a couple of days, we got it back. It has never been a good runner since, It stalls, and always runs sluggish, will never use Arnold Clark again. I had gone there with the niave intention of maintaining the service history for the car, what a joke.3.7.2003 |

Disgusted the way this company make a living and if this is the only way remember the higher you climb the faster you fall. Even brainwashed staff are trained to appear sympathetic but reality is as long as they get their wages the really don't give a shit. And if there are any decent staff employed here do yourselves a favour get out. 3.7.2003 |

You think they treat there customers badly? A company of the size of Clarks would be able to treat there staff with a little bit of respect, well no. Back stabbing, two facedness. The conditions within his offices would make you cringe, if the Health & Safety people were to go near them they would be shut down, no hesitation. Its a disgrace the way both staff and customers are treated by them.8.7.2003 |

I was about to pay a visit - (a long drive from a Scottish island-following a phone call)- to these people to buy a first car for my daughter. Thanks very much for your site and to all your contributors who have warned me off 8.7.2003 |
